Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has officially announced the date for the declaration of the Higher Secondary (HS) examination results for the year 2025. According to a press release, the results will be declared on May 7 at 12:30 PM during a press conference to be held at Vidyasagar Bhavan, the WBCHSE headquarters in Salt Lake, Kolkata.
Students who appeared for the HS 2025 examinations will be able to check their results online from 2 PM onwards on May 7. The results will be accessible through multiple official portals, including https://result.wb.gov.in, https://results.digilocker.gov.in, and the WBCHSE Results app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
While students can view their results digitally, the physical copies of mark sheets and pass certificates will be distributed to schools the following day, May 8, starting at 10 AM across 55 distribution centres. The Council has instructed school authorities to ensure students receive their official documents on the same day.
In parallel, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has also declared the date for the Madhyamik (Class 10) results. As per the official notification, the Madhyamik 2025 results will be announced on May 2 at 9 AM by the President of the Ad-hoc Committee through a press conference. Students will be able to access their scores from 9:45 AM on various official websites and mobile apps.
Schools will also receive the mark sheets and certificates of Madhyamik candidates on the same day, May 2, from 10 AM, through their designated camp offices. This prompt distribution aims to reduce the gap between the result announcement and document availability.
Notably, around 5.09 lakh students took part in the Higher Secondary exams this year, conducted between March 3 and March 18 across 2,089 exam centres. This year marks the last batch under the annual examination system, as WBCHSE will introduce a semester-based system from the academic session 2025–2026, aligning with New Education Policy (NEP) reforms.
